Modern knitted fabric differs from typical punto by its weave construction and, consequently, very delicate diamond pattern visible on both sides. The knitwaer is thin, delicate, pleasant to the touch and does not shine through. It is flexible across (in the direction of the weft) and has great drapeablity. Black knitted fabric is recommended mainly for thin sweaters, cardigans, blouses. Additionally, it can be used to sew dresses and tunic in a looser, casual style.
Acrylic fibers characterized by a very soft touch guarantee the knitted fabric excellent thermal insulation properties. In practice, this means that the material protects us well from the cold. However, durability of finished products in comparison with natural materials and lack of tendency to wrinkle are ensured by synthetic polyester fibres.
