Barbie is a modern fabric with double-layered weft and warp. Thanks to this it is thicker, resilient, flowing and drapeable. The material does not shine through, and its edges do not fray strongly. The addition of elastomeric threads (the so called elastane) guarantees it a low stretch across, i.e. towards the weft.
The fabric is durable, because the raw material used for its production (polyester) has very good tear and abrasion resistance. Moreover, it gives a feeling of delicate, pleasant in contact with the skin. Barbie, also called Marchiano, does not tend to wrinkle and dries quickly.
All the above features combined with the bold, colourful pattern of fruits and tropical flowers make the fabric ideal for dresses, skirts and bomber jackets and light coats.
