Coloured leaves and rowanberries on a geometric, striped black-and-white background were applied to the fabric using the sublimation method. This digital print guarantees a vivid and wide range of colours. Silki, i.e. synthetic silk, is perfect mainly for clothing applications. Woven fabric is recommended for dresses, skirts, blouses or light shirts.
Silki fabric is very light (90 g/m2) and densely woven, so it does not transparent. However, the bright colors of the background causes that in some creations it is worth to use an additional lining. The material was made of 97% synthetic silk, i.e. continuous polyester fibres. Addition of 3% of the so-called elastane improves the fabric's drapeability by giving it little elasticity. Polyester fibres are characterized by much higher strength than other fibres (natural and artificial). Moreover, thanks to them, the fabric does not wrinkle, dries quickly, is flowing and very airy. Additionally, it is incredibly delicate and pleasant to the touch.
