The modern knit differs from the typical punto in the construction of the weave and the consequent very fine diamond pattern visible on both sides. The material is thin, delicate, pleasant to the touch and does not show through. It is elasticated across (in the direction of the rows) and is perfectly manageable. The black knit is mainly recommended for thin jumpers, cardigans, blouses. In addition, it can be used to sew dresses and tunics in a looser, casual style.
The acrylic fibres, characterised by their very soft feel, guarantee the knitted fabric excellent thermal insulation properties. In practice, this means that the fabric protects us well against the cold. On the other hand, the durability of the finished products, the high strength compared to natural raw materials and the lack of tendency to wrinkle are ensured by synthetic polyester fibres.
